Fearing People

Proverbs 29:25 (NLT)

Fearing people is a dangerous trap, but trusting the LORD means safety.

How many times have you wanted to stand up for God but didn’t because of the people around you? How many times have you felt led to share the Gospel with someone but didn’t because you were afraid of the consequences? What if you were to lose this person as a friend? I’ll ask you a better question:

What if your friend died and spent eternity in Hell simply because you didn’t share Christ with them when you knew God was leading you to?

It comes back to maturing in your walk with the Lord and living your life with an eternal perspective. Instead of carefully guarding our quasi-relationships with people here on earth, we are able to see what’s most important: our friend’s eternal destination. Yet fear remains.

However, God’s Word tells us that we have no reason to fear people. Why fear people who can do us no eternal harm? We were made to love and worship God and, just as importantly, to love each other. I can’t think of any greater way to show a person love than to share with them the story of salvation given to us through Jesus’ death on the cross.

When you’re feeling led to share Christ today, don’t check out.

Make your move!
