Proverbs 19:21 (NLT)
You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail.
If you’re the type of person who needs such labels, the theme of the week has been: “Joy is a gift of GOD. But we must still act on it, not passively seek it.” With that truth in mind, our author offers five reasons why this truth matters. Despite the temptation to comment on these, I will defer to him. Ponder these for a few minutes today.
1. We should first believe and embrace this truth whether or not it benefits us.
2. Our joy is multiplied because it is compounded with gratitude
3. The truth causes us to seek GOD with greater urgency
4. This joy prevents us from falling into legalism.
5. Our joy always points to the glory of GOD
I pray that we embrace such truth. And remember that it's not about us.
