1 Corinthians 3:13-15 (NLT)
But on the judgment day, fire will reveal what kind of work each builder has done. The fire will show if a person’s work has any value. If the work survives, that builder will receive a reward. But if the work is burned up, the builder will suffer great loss. The builder will be saved, but like someone barely escaping through a wall of flames.
Today is less devotion and more devotional exercise.
Use your imagination. Let’s say that you die as you read this devotion. (Not trying to be morbid. Just making a point.) And suddenly you are face to face with YAHWEH. After you have risen from your knees and he draws you into conversation, the question arises, “What did you do with the beautiful gift of life I gave you?”
Ponder the question. Deeply. How would you answer? Honestly. Would you find that GOD would delight in your answer? Or do you already feel like you have wasted much of your life now that you've carefully examined it?
Take the time to think hard about this issue for a while. Have a conversation with GOD about it. If you've found that your life is full of the Spirit’s fire and you are taking every opportunity to share the hope of JESUS, then press on! If not, make today a turning point in your life. Because you never know when the curtain will descend on the play that is your life.
