This week, we have discussed issues like the adventure of faith, facing the skeletons in our closet, Refuge as the body of Christ, relationship over religion, and taking our thoughts captive to see their motives.
With that in mind, reflect and meditate on the following questions:
1. Describe your journey of faith from its beginning to the present? List some things you have learned as a result of your spiritual “climb.” Take a minute and thank God for carrying you through it and teaching you those lessons.
2. Do you have any skeletons, any unconfessed sins that haunt you? If you do, what is holding you back from giving those to God? If not, list some accountability measures to keep it place so that no more “ghosts” pop up.
3. Do you truly believe that Jesus can change lives through His Body here at Refuge? What things can you give God to make this “dream” a reality. Begin today praying specifically that God will help us shine so bright that people will come running from all over the community to worship with us.
4. Are you involved in religion or relationship? Do you follow church guidelines and standards because you think you’re expected to or because you love, and want to please, the Savior?
5. Can you honestly say that you are taking every thought captive and interrogating it for motives? What things can you put in place to strengthen the “guard” at your heart? If you don’t have one already, consider asking a close friend to be your accountability partner. Share your thoughts with them and pray together about this very issue.
