Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your Christian hope, always be ready to explain it.
When we see a great movie or hear a great song, our first impulse is to share it with our friends. We watch or listen to it with them hoping to see them smile in amazement as we did the first time we saw or heard it. There’s nothing like sharing something amazing with someone and seeing them embrace it as you did.
In the same way, Peter urges us to share something that is much greater than any movie or song. As we read in the Gospels and in the book of Acts, he experienced many spectacular things: Walking daily with Jesus Christ. Jesus’ resurrection from the dead and his ascension into Heaven. The day of Pentecost. The healing of the sick with Jesus and through Jesus. Miracle after miracle. Because of these experiences, he devoted his life to the Great Commission (Going and making disciples) that we talked about yesterday and was given opportunity after opportunity to share this faith and his hope in Christ.
In the same way, we will be given opportunity after opportunity to share this love and his grace with others. People will ask you how you handled a tough situation like you did. Why you let someone curse you and get the ever-powerful “last word.” Why you gave that cashier back that $5 of extra change she mistakenly handed you.
If you choose to “worship Christ as Lord of your life,” you will always have opportunities to share your faith. Always be ready!
