Mark 5:18-20 (NLT)
As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon possessed begged to go with him. But Jesus said, “No, go home to your family, and tell them everything the Lord has done for you and how merciful he has been.” So the man started off to visit the Ten Towns of that region and began to proclaim the great things Jesus had done for him; and everyone was amazed at what he told them.
Throughout the course of this “Back to Basics” series, John has shared the Refuge story. The tale of a dozen regular folks who were led to start a “different and real” fellowship. More than its obvious purpose, John’s sharing shows all of us something else - we all have a story! From the greatest among us to the least among us. And everyone in between. And its this story, these memories and moments in life, that shape and mold us into who we are. It's what we are to go out and share with the world.
That being said, this devotion will be brief because I have a request of you - write your story! You don’t have to give the graphic, juiciest details at this time. Do an edited version. Just write your story. In doing so, you’ll discover that you do have a story to tell.
And with the holidays upon us, you’ll have plenty of people to share it with.
